About

Hey, I’m Luke.

A traveller from the Netherlands. For the last few years I’ve been showing hundreds of thousands of people how to travel Europe properly, especially the parts most guides skip.

A few things about me

  • 01 I’m Dutch, and most at home on a night train heading somewhere new.
  • 02 Thirty-plus countries in, with a soft spot for where Europe turns into the East.
  • 03 687K people follow along on Instagram. I still read the DMs.
  • 04 I’d rather miss a famous landmark than rush a slow afternoon.
  • 05 Give me a local market over a rooftop bar any day.
  • 06 The Balkans, the Baltics and the Caucasus are my kind of map.

How this started

It started the way most good things do: a cheap ticket and too much curiosity. I kept going a little further east than planned, kept finding places that were cheaper, friendlier and more interesting than anyone had told me, and kept filming it so my friends would believe me.

That turned into a community of hundreds of thousands of travellers who come for the same thing: useful travel content that actually helps you plan a trip. The Balkans, the Baltics, Central Europe, Istanbul, the Caucasus. The map where Europe slowly turns into something else.

These days I make travel content full time, run small-group trips, and build the guides and routes I wish I’d had on my first trips. The goal is simple: get more people to the good places, with less stress and fewer tourist traps.
